Free standing film pouch for fluids or flowable solids - has welded cross-seams inward folding of long edges and lower seam is bent upwards

Pouch for flowable solids and fluids which is produced by forming a film into a tube, cutting off the ends, welding upper and lower edges and also the open long edge. Novel features of the pouch (1) are (i) an inward folding (4,5) along the narrow edges (2,3), (ii) the breadth (9) of the lower welded seam (6) is similar to the breadth (b) of the inner folding, (iii) the seam (6) is bent over at right angles to the pouch (1) axis. The pouch (1) is mfd. in a film laminate comprising outer layers of polyethylene and aluminium with a middle layer of polyester. USE/ADVANTAGE - Labelling is not hindered by side seams. mfd. is simpler because addn. of a floor section to provide a free standing pouch is unnecessary.
