The coupling is for joining two vehicles together. The coupling shaft can be coupled and uncoupled within a locking mechanism. The coupling shaft (11) is coupled by means of a spring loaded snap connection controlled by an externally actuated hydraulic or pneumatic position motor with a pressure pin (15) which on uncoupling the shaft renders the motor inoperable.
