<p>PURPOSE:To use a handle also as a hand rest by adding an angle control mechanism to an arm which connects the handle to a computer main body and turning and stopping the arm at a desired position. CONSTITUTION:A spring latch mechanism serving as an angle control mechanism is added to an arm 3 which connects a handle 2 to a lap top type computer main body 1. When a user puts his/her hand on the handle 2 and presses it down, a spring 7 is wound tight to fix the arms 3a and 3b. A pawl 7a of the spring 7 is put into a groove 8a of release sleeve 8. When the sleeve 8 is turned in the same direction as the winding direction of the spring 7, the inner winding diameter of the spring 7 is increased and the clamping force is eliminated between a stepped pin 4 of the spring 7 and a sleeve 5. Then the connection is released between both arms 3a and 3b. Thus the arm 3 can freely turn. As a result, the angle of the handle 2 is controlled with operation of the sleeve 8 and the handle 2 can be used as a hand rest.</p> |
