PURPOSE: To easily decide the size of an original document by calculating the size of the original document as the function of the distance that shutters moved and a constant corresponding to the distance between an opening position and a position adjusting position. CONSTITUTION: The shutters 80 and 82 which are arranged in the opening positions, store the distance between the opening position and the position adjusting position as the constant and move from the opening positions to the orthogonal edge part of the other group of the original document, means 104 and 106 for checking the positions of the shutters 80 and 82, deciding the distance between the position adjusting position and the opening position and storing the information as the constant, and means 108 and 110 for measuring the distance that the shutters move between the opening positions and the orthogonal edge part of the other group of the original document are provided. The size of the original document is calculated as the function of the distance that the shutters move and the constant corresponding to the distance between the opening position and the position adjusting position. Thus, the size of the original document can easily be decided. |
