PURPOSE:To produce an ion-conductive diaphragm having a high ionic conductivity at room temp. or lower and useful for a battery by mixing a soln. of an ion-nonconductive polymer with a soln. of an ion-conductive polymer compatible with the ion-nonconductive polymer and forming the resulting mixed soln. into a film. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of an ion-nonconductive or weakly ion-conductive polymer (A) (e.g. propylene carbonate) is mixed with a soln. of an ion-conducive polymer (B) which is compatible with the polymer A and has an ionic salt attracted by it (e.g. a homogeneous mixture of a tetrahydrofuran soln. of polyethersulfone with LiClO4) to give a mixed soln. which is formed into a film and dried to remove the solvent, producing an ion-conductive diaphragm wherein the polymer B is dispersed in the polymer A backbone. |
