The hermetically sealed refrigeration compressor has a cylinder head (6) consisting of two sheet metal portions brazed together. Inlet and outlet valve bores and a further aperture (8), outside that part of the cylinder head overlapping the cylinder (4), are formed in one sheet metal portion. A ring-shaped leaf spring pressure valve (7) is inserted through the aperture (8) and assembled in its correct position. A raised section (9) of the second sheet metal portion supports the valve in this position. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simpler, less costly and smaller construction of hermetically sealed refrigeration compressor.
