PURPOSE:To form images which have a high image density and are free from fogging stably over many times by incorporating a carrier having a coating layer consisting of a resin, a toner contg. a specific copolymer and a carbon black treated with an amino-modified silicone oil into the above developer. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic developer 4 contains the carrier formed by coating the magnetic material particles with the resin, the toner contg. the styrene/acrylic copolymer polymerized by an azo his initiator and the carbon black treated with the amino-modified silicone oil. Since this developer 4 has excellent positive chargeability, the developer is eventually charged positive at an adequate electrostatic charge quantity and the carrier particles and toner particles are held in the form of this layers arrayed like a uniform brush on a developing sleeve. The images of the sharp image quality which obviate the generation of fogging and are free from unequal images, image voids, image blur and image thinning are formed stably over many times without being affected by environmental conditions. |
