The invention concerns a method and an arrangement for using a deep-frozen food product, in particular fish, when preparing food. According to the method, the quantity of food required for the case in question is removed from the deep-frozen food product by means of a motor-driven, preferably rotating shredding apparatus, and any deep-frozen material remaining is returned to the freezer. The said arrangement comprises a frame 1, a rotating shredding drum 3 which is mounted 2 on a shaft 8 for rotation and which has a number of cutting edges 4, a drive member 5 coupled to the shaft 8 for rotating the drum 3, a hopper 6 secured to the frame 1 at the place for the drum 3, and a collection container 7 arranged under the shredding drum. According to the invention, the cutting edges 4 of the drum 3 consist of saw edges which are arranged in a spiral configuration on the jacket of the drum 3. <IMAGE> |
