PURPOSE:To assemble a long life lead-acid battery at a low cost by dispersing fine glass short fibers in a liquid, pouring the this dispersion between plates and in the surroundings of plate groups, and filling the fine glass short fibers there by the filtration of the liquid. CONSTITUTION:Plate groups 4, 5 are assembled, then fine glass short fibers 6 are filled between plates 4, 5 and in the surroundings of plate groups 4, 5. First, fine glass short fibers 6 are dispersed in a dilute sulfuric acid, then the dispersion is poured between the plates 4, 5 and in the surroundings of the plate groups 4, 5, and the sulfuric acid is removed by filtration. As a result, the fine glass short fibers 6 are left in the spaces of the plates 4, 5, and the plate groups 4, 5 are covered with the fine glass short fibers. The fine glass short fibers are filled according to the surface configuration of the plate and large spaces do not exist. |
