<p>1488100 Papermaking apparatus NORDISKA MASKINFILT AB 4 March 1975 [8 March 1974] 8949/75 Heading D2A To prevent a paper web a, which has not been transferred onto a felt 7, from re-reaching the breast roll of a paper-making machine, an arrangement is provided to detach the web from the machine wire 2, the arrangement comprising a first spray means 11 having a set of nozzles 12 spaced in the cross-machine direction and spraying a fluid medium onto the web to cut it into longitudinal strips and a second spray means 13 downstream of the first spray means 11 arid comprising one or more slots 14 extending in the cross-machine direction to spray a fluid medium to remove the strips from the wire. The spray means 11 may be on either side of the wire and, if the spray means 11, 13 are air sprays an additional water spray 15 may be used between the spray means 11, 13 to lubricate the contacting surfaces of the wire and web. Alternatively, the fluid used for spray means 11, 13 may be water or an air/water mixture.</p> |
