<p>PURPOSE:To generate a magnified picture/reduced picture whose resolution is improved by making a sampling interval of an interpolated picture equal to that of an original picture, applying D/A conversion to the result and using an LPF to convert the result into a picture existing on a plane. CONSTITUTION:A discrete picture subject to magnification/reduction as a multiple of L1/L2 is obtained by making a sampling interval of an interpolated discrete picture by a multiple of L1/L2 (L is an integral number) equal to that of an original picture. Since the deterioration due to an analog low pass filter (LPF) 2 is compensated for the discrete picture subject to magnification/ reduction in this way, the resolution is improved more than that of a picture subject to magnification/reduction by a conventional method. The result is D/A-converted by a D/A converter 7 and converted into a picture in existence on a continuous plane. Thus, the magnified picture/reduced picture in which the deterioration due to the analog LPF 2 is compensated is generated.</p> |
