<p>PURPOSE: To provide a connector which has no fixing or holding means on the end face of a housing by having one or more metallic members inside the wall of the housing, and providing a fixing means having a part which projects perpendicular to the outer surface of a bottom wall. CONSTITUTION: A connector 1 has a contact element 2 of a conductive material in a housing of an insulating material. The contact element 2 has a socket end 3 and a connecting end 4 and is pinhole connected to a printed board 5. The housing has a front wall 6 which can access the socket end 3 and a rear wall 7 from which the connecting end 4 projects outward, and a bottom wall 9 has a part projecting beneath the end of the printed board 5 and a part riding over the printed board. The part 21 of a metallic member 20 is projected perpendicular to the bottom wall, is inserted into a plated hole 14 in the printed board 5, and soldered to a metallized are. Since a fixed element does not project transversely, the connectors can be aligned with their side walls in contact with each other, and the connectors with a high density of connecting element can be obtained.</p> |
