Optical imaging system for optical fibre splicing device - allows imaging in two perpendicular directions using at least one objective and 2 mirrors

The optical imaging system uses 2 objectives (O1, O2) exhibiting a common subject plane (GE) perpendicular to their optical axes and a pair of mirrors (S3, S4) lying on the image side. Alternatively a single objective is used, with 2 mirrors lying on the object side of the latter, or with 4 mirrors lying 2 on the object side and 2 on the image side. Pref. the objective fulfills defined data for a given focal width and a light wavelength of 550nm. USE - For providing imaging in 2 perpendicular directions for optical fibre splicing device.
