A pacemaker with a stimulation rate adapted to the activity of the patient has a timer that generates stimulating pulses of the cardiac muscle at the end of an escape interval. The escape interval is influenced within limits depending on the activity of the patient, detected by means of an activity sensor. An evaluation circuit (56, 60) generates stimulating pulses (30, 51) which are detected on the basis of a weighted time average of the ratio between the duration above a programmed threshold value (59) and the duration below the threshold value (59) of a band-limited instantaneous output signal of the activity sensor (56). |
