Machining turbine blade blanks - involves rectangular U=section block with blank clamped to allow access for machining ends
摘要
The fixture consists of a rectangular U-section block with locating pads (8) against which the blank (5) is forced by the eccentric clamping pins (9). The ends of the blank project outside the fixture and are freely accessible for machining the foot and head of the blade. The outside surfaces of the fixture are machined square and have reference points (10) for positioning the fixture in the various machines of the process sequence. If forged or cast blanks are used a rectangular die pair with the blank nested in the centre replaces the rectangular blank (5) in the fixture. USE/ADVANTAGE - All machining operations on blade ends can be completed in one setting of the blank.
