Finely chopping solids - by intermeshed cutter blades projecting from parallel shafts set in equilateral triangle

Plant or animal material, e.g. beans, fish, meat are finely chopped for foodstaff prodn., and the cellular structure is broken down, in a turbine with three rotors (1,2,3) whose hubs (12,14) at the end of their drive shafts carry equally spaced fly cutter blades. The shafts are in an equilateral triangle. The circular paths of the blades in two of the rotors have a common base tangent. Intermasking blades are somewhat shorter than the gap between adjacent rotors, of which two rotate in synchronism but in opposite rotary directions. The attact angle of blades in the third, smaller, rotor is greater than for the first two (equally sized) rotors and can be adjusted, while the third rotors speed exceeds that of the said first two rotors. Chopped material collects in a chamber including a gas seperator. USE - In addn. to foodstaffs, unit can also treat rubber, cork, plastic etc..
