The metering system supplies a lapping mixt. to a precision grinding or polishing machine with two working wheels (11,14) on vertical axes. The mixt. is delivered by a wiper (16) turning w.r.t. the top wheel (11) into an annular groove (10) in the rear face of the wheel. From there it passes via bores (12) into the working space (13) between the grinding wheels.
