PURPOSE:To perform a desired printing at a predetermined position on a printing sheet and to reduce an inspecting labor by connecting a pattern reader and a printer to control means for controlling the printer to print at a predetermined position on the sheet. CONSTITUTION:When a computer 7 inputs a detection pulse from a rotary encoder 3, it calculates a conveying speed of a printed matter 1. On the other hand, a pattern reading optical reader 10 reads a pattern 13 when passing the matter 1. The computer 7 sets a starting point based on the reading and conveying speed of the reader 10, and sets the print starting timing of an ink jet unit 11 by considering conveying direction and distance from the point to the unit 11. The computer 7 controls the unit 11 to print as desired at a predetermined position of the sheet 1 while communicating information to a font memory 8 based on the printing data stored in a memory 9. |
