A heating and cooling system, and partic. for an extruder barrel, has a cylindrical heat transfer element, a convection element and a heater. The heat transfer element at least partly covers a barrel circumferentially and is attached to a convection element which is radially outside it. ADVANTAGE - The design is suitable for mass prodn. at low cost. It is easy to fit and needs no expensive equipment. It provides fine temp. control. |
