PURPOSE:To converge the oscillation of a stepping motor in standstill and to allow a printer to do high speed printing by installing a metal disk to the shaft of the stepping motor and by mounting an electromagnet along the metal disk surface. CONSTITUTION:A serial printer consists of a type font 1, a stepping motor 2 for selecting the type font, a metal disk 3 installed to the shaft of this stepping motor 2, an electromagnet 4 to generate the magnetic field to the metal disk 3, a drive circuit 5 of the stepping motor 2 and a drive circuit 6 of the electromagnet 4. If the metal disk 3 is rotated at an equal speed with the stepping motor 2, magnetic field is applied to this metal disk 3 in standstill and the metal disk 3 is rotated to cause the flux, then the eddy current will be generated, braking force proportional to the rotating speed of the metal disk 3 will appear and the oscillation of the stepping motor 2 will be converged. High speed printing will thereby be possible without causing the slippage of position instandstill. |
