The recoder for recording and reproducing stero image signal from guard band appearing at LP mode had a drum head comprising A,B head (6,7) for LP and EP, a C head for balancing with a -head, and a D head for recording and reproducing signals from guard band. The D-head is placed alpha apart from the A head. The recoder has a switch for selecting normal recording by A and B head and stero recording utilizing the D-head.
