A handle part (10) can be twisted relative to a hitting part (16) about the longitudinal axis (38). To this end, a torsion spring element, which exerts a damping effect when the ball strikes the strings (14) or the frame (12) outside the longitudinal axis (38), is incorporated in the handle (26). The damping of the torsional movement largely prevents excessive strain on the forearm region and elbow joint of the player.
