A circuit for driving print nozzles in an ink mosaic printer applies d.c. voltages of opposite polarity to piezoelements (CP) to expand and contract ink channels. Each piezoelement has separately microprocessor-controlled push-pull amplifiers (V1, V2) with outputs commonly connected via resistors (R1, R2) to the piezoelement. The positive amplifier supply is varied from a high to a low value during an operating period and the negative connection is earthed. USE/ADVANTAGE - The circuit for driving print nozzles in ink mosaic printers can generate the required bipolar voltage pulses without the use of large inductive components.
