An internal axis rotary piston machine contains a housing (2) in which an outer rotor (4) and, eccentrically thereto, an inner rotor (24) are supported such that they can rotate and are coupled to a transmission, a compensating line being fed from the transmission space (28) to a second space (49), especially to a suction chamber. It is intended reliably to prevent lubricant being conveyed from the transmission space. It is proposed to provide a damping chamber (34) (into which a connecting line (40) originating from the transmission space (28) opens) between the transmission space (28) and the second space (49).
