Inclination gauge comprising a reservoir filled with liquid and containing a gas bubble. The position of the gas bubble is detected by light-detecting means by virtue of the fact that light passing through the completely filled tube produces a different type of convergence than when light passes partly through the liquid and partly through the gas in the reservoir. A screen is provided on the centre line of the light-emitting and light-detecting means.
