The preferred oxidizing agent is hydrogen peroxide and preferred starting dyes are prepared by (a) diazotizing an amine of the benzene or naphthalene series and coupling to a coupling component of the benzene, naphthalene or pyrazolene series or (b) condensing an aromatic amine of the benzene or naphthalene series with an aldehyde of the benzene, naphthalene or pyrazolone series. The dyes which give orange, red, blue, violet, scarlet and bordeaux shades in pyridine are used to dye cellulose leather and synthetic fibres. |
