PURPOSE:To decrease effectively Joule heat which is produced when the electric current is supplied to power leads by making a superconductive lead part hold a part which is constructed from an oxide system superconductive material. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive lead part which makes up superconductive power leads 1 is constructed from a superconductive material exhibiting high critical temperature of oxide systems, e.g. the system of Y-Ba-Cu-O and the like. As the critical temperature of the above material exceeds -100K, a superconductive state is obtained by keeping the superconductive lead part at a temperature that is higher than conventional temperatures. Such a step extremely lessens Joule heat generated by an electric current that is supplied to a superconductive magnet and then, even the consumption of liquid helium as a cooling medium decreases. |
