PURPOSE:To stabilize the power source of an oscillating circuit by inserting a capacitor between the positive side of a rectifier and the positive side of the oscillating circuit, and using the charging current of this capacitor as the power source of the oscillating circuit. CONSTITUTION:When an AC power source 1 is turned on, a capacitor 11 is charged from a full-wave rectifier 2 via a diode 14, a pre-heating electrode 7B and a diode 10, and it is also charged via a capacitor 16. When the voltage across both ends of the capacitor 11 is increased to the operating voltage of an oscillating circuit 12, oscillation is started, and a transistor 5 is operated. A current flows in the capacitor 11 via the diode 10 by the AC current flowing in electrodes 7A and 7B, a current flows into the capacitor 11 from the capacitor 16, and a current sufficient to operate the circuit 12 is fed. The power source current of the circuit 12 is fed not only from the AC current but also from the voltage after rectification, thus the power source of the oscillating circuit 12 of a low-wattage discharge lamp 7 is stabilized. |
