The precision penetrometer according to the invention, essentially consisting of a tip element 1, of a sleeve tube 9 at least partially surrounding the tip element and of one or more trunks (hoops) 17 for making the penetrometer penetrate into the ground, is characterised by a system for injecting pressurized liquid into the region of the tip element 1 or sleeve tube 9, which includes at least one or more openings 15 or flutes for the passage and ejection of the liquid into the annular space of the tip of the penetrometer. This penetrometer may comprise a floating central probe trunk which coaxially or at least partially surrounds the central probe and/or the central rod and which is capable of sliding axially independently relative to the sleeve tube and to the central probe and/or to the central rod.
