Spanner for screwing and unscrewing threaded connection pieces, of the type with adjustable spacing. An adjustable (spacing) spanner includes: a handle 20 comprising an assembly end having a pressing edge 23 and a thinned part; a movable member 40 exhibiting a polygonal surface 41 capable of interacting with the pressing edge 23 to clamp a tubular member between them, and a coupling part 42 which, by means of a pivot pin 52, is mounted on the thinned part with the freedom to pivot about a pin 52 which may pass through one of four indentations 48 to 51 and a central hole 31 of the thinned part to be bolted, by virtue of a nut 53; as well as an elastic positioning member 60, a first end of which is held fixed on the handle and a second, opposite, end of which bears on the said movable part. The invention makes it possible to use a single spanner to screw or unscrew components of different dimensions. <IMAGE>
