PURPOSE:To obtain a color image display device which is excellent in color reproducibility and has high image quality by deviating image elements in a vertical direction by half image element in row units so that an aluminum signal line may be formed in a straight line at the time of forming the triangular pattern of the image elements. CONSTITUTION:The color filter of three primary colors and an image element electrode 9 are arranged to be deviated by half image element in row units to form the triangular pattern in which a vertical direction is taken as a base and the aluminum signal line 8 is formed in the straight line. Since the aluminum signal line 8 is the straight line, the sufficient rubbing is performed by rubbing an oriented film in parallel with the aluminum signal line 8 because there is no aluminum signal line 8 as a barrier in a rubbing direction. Thus, the color image display device in which the faulty orientation of liquid crystal does not occur and which has the high image quality is obtained.
