The invention concerns a membrane for extracting unsaturated hydrocarbons from gaseous and liquid mixtures of substances, in particular mixtures of hydrocarbons, and a process for obtaining it. The membrane comprises a first, separating or barrier layer containing a metallic salt in an organic polymer, and a second, microporous layer the pores and/or at least pore openings of which are covered by the first layer. To obtain the membrane, an aqueous solution of an organic polymer is mixed with an aqueous solution of a metallic salt, the resulting mixture is applied as a first layer to a second, microporous layer and finally, the aqueous portion of the mixture is removed of the first layer applied in step a. of the process.
