PURPOSE:To remarkably increase thermal stability and optical stability by incorporating cationic dye having the same paired ions and aluminum salt compound or diimonium salt compound in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer made of a combination of the same paired ions of cationic dye and a compound represented by a formula I or II is formed on a recording medium. In the formulae I, II, X- is anion. R1-R8 are hydrogen atoms, halogen atoms, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, substituted or unsubstituted alkenyl group, substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl group or substituted or unsubstituted alkynyl group. Substituted or unsubstituted 5-membered ring, substituted or unsubstituted 6-membered ring, or substituted or unsubstituted 7-membered ring may be formed together with N in combination of R1 and R2, R3 and R4, R5 and R6, and R7 and R8. Thus, an optical recording medium in which recording/reproducing of a semiconductor laser with a long wavelength light can be performed and which has excellent stability for heat and light is obtained. |
