<p>The measurement method allows the diameters of both short round solids such as hubs, supports and the like, and elongate solids such as shafts, to be detected by making use of only two numerical control axes (10, 12) and with a minimum variation of the measurement device; this comprises a first carriage (11) movable along a first numerical control axis (10) and provided with a workpiece carrier platform, and a second carriage (14) movable along a second numerical control axis (12) disposed orthogonally of the plane which contains the first axis; the second carriage carries a projecting C-shape structure (25) in which a crosspiece disposed parallel to one of the said axes carries first and second feelers (29, 30) projecting perpendicularly to its ends, the feelers (29, 30) being adapted to generate a signal whenever they come into contact with a workpiece to be measured, and maintained at a greater distance than the maximum value measurable with the device.</p> |
