PURPOSE:To prevent welding failure, by providing a caterpillar which can be driven and rotated so that its caterpllar face face-contacts with the side of a web material, between upper and lower press-welding rolls for pressing a flange material of a weld in the welding shape steel manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION:Between upper and lower press-welding rolls 1, 1, four caterpillars 4 are provided so as to sandwich a web material W between them. The caterpillar 4 is constituted so that its caterpillar face face-contacts with the side of the web material W, and also its face contact part is positioned extending from a welding start point to a welding end point. The caterpillar 4 is constituted of sprockets 5, 5 placed at a prescribed interval, a chain member 6 wound round them, and a press-contact plate 7 fitted to the caterpillar face, and in order to receive force in the lateral direction from the web material W, a guide rail 8 of the chain member 6 is provided on the inside. Accordingly, the caterpillar 4 is driven as the web material W advances, and an relief of the web material W in a weld is detained and supported. |
