SLIDING MEMBER FOR RECORDING AND REPRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve the friction resistance and wear resistance of the sliding member by constituting the surface part of the member of a metal or plastic and the plasma polymerized film coating formed thereon. CONSTITUTION:The surface part of the sliding member is constituted of the metal or plastic and the plasma polymerized film coating formed on the surface thereof. The refractive index of the plasma polymerized film is specified to 1.8 to 2.3. While any monomers which can be plasma polymerized are usable as the plasma polymerized film, the plasma polymerized film substantially consisting of only the carbon and hydrogen is adequate. The sliding member is inexpensively coated with the plasma polymerized film having the good friction resistance and wear resistance with good productivity in this way.
