<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature resolution and to improve the observation accuracy by switching electronically a beam of a primary radiator array placed on a focal line of a cylindrical parabola by a control signal and executing a scan like a raster. CONSTITUTION:When the directions of ferrite switches f1 - f15 are set by a control signal of a switch driver 4d1, only a signal inputted to a conical horn 2a4 of sub-arrays 2a1 - 2a16 of a primary radiator array 2 passes through the switches f2, f9 and f13 and outputted from f15. In the same way, by switching successively a beam by an (n) piece unit in a form in which each sub-array of each pair of conical horns for constituting the array 2 correspond to each other, a raster-like scan can be executed. Subsequently, signals of (n) pairs of tournament type beam switching circuits 3 are amplified and detected by (n) pairs of low noise receivers 8r1 - 8rm, respectively, integrated 9i1 - 9in, and thereafter, synthesized 10. As a result, the scanning width becomes 1/n of the whole scanning width, and an integral time can be set to (n) folds, therefore, the temperature resolution is reduced, and even if the scanning speed is increased, high observation accuracy is obtained.</p> |
