PURPOSE:To prevent adhesion of an electrification roller to a sensitized substance drum, the occurrence of unevenness in electrification, and the occurrence of a ground stain due to adhesion of a toner to the electrification roller by a method wherein the relative coarsening speed of a polishing material at a portion making contact with the electrification roller is set to 1.0mm/sec or more and 5000mm/sec or less. CONSTITUTION:A beltform polishing material 12 makes slide rubbing against the surface of an electrification roller 11 in the pressure contact position of a roller 14. In this case, a relative coarsening speed defined by a difference between the linear velocity of the peripheral surface of the electrification roller 11 and a component of velocity being the component of the moving speed of the beltform polishing material 12 and coinciding with the direction of the linear velocity of the electrification roller 11 is maintained at 1.0mm/sec-5000mm/sec. Average coarseness and maximum and minimum surface coarseness of the electrification roller 11 are both set to 0.3-5.0mum, and this method prevents the occurrence of unevenness in electrification. |
