The valve 4, 5 of a diaphragm operated pressure regulator may be closed, independently of the regulated pressure, by a pneumatically operated drive member 33 coupled to the operating rod 16 of the diaphragm 18. The drive member 33 is moved away from the valve closure member 5 by inflation of a hose 27 which bears on the member 33 via a plate 32.
