The filter element is a rectangular block made by folding a paper strip into concertina shape. The open edges are sealed by a thermoplastic sheet so that liquid can pass only through concertina shaped folds. This block is placed in a cylindrical housing and is held in the housing in a sleeve directly attached to the liquid inlet opening.
