Prodn. of dimethylamino-substd. arylalkanes (I) and their salts comprises reacting a hydroxy-substd. arylalkane (II) with dimethylamine and a tetramethylformamidinium salt (III) in dimethylformamide. In formulae, R=H or methyl; X = Cl, Br or tesyloxy; Ar = gp. of formula (c) - (e); R1 = H, Cl, Br or 1-6C alkyl; R2 = H, 1-6C alkyl, dimethylaminomethyl or 2-(M-methyl-2-nitroguidni dino) ethyl= thiemethyl; R3 = H or 1-6C alkyl. - At least 2 mol. of dimethylamine and at least 1 mol. of cpd. (III) are pref. used for mol. of cpd. (II). The reaction is carried out at 80-130 deg.C, esp. at 90-100 deg.C. |
