This tooling (testing) cartridge which can be rammed home is an inert practice munition which simulates the weight, the shape and the dimensions of a real munition and which can be inserted into the chamber of a gun and possibly struck. It includes an expansible and retractable belt which dilates under the effect of a deceleration in order to jam the cartridge into the chamber of the gun at the end of ramming home and prevent rebounds, then retracting at the end of a certain time to allow the cartridge to be withdrawn from the chamber of the gun. The figure represents, in partial longitudinal section, the obus body 1 of the cartridge in which can be distinguished a flyweight 5 moving radial movable fingers 18, 19 which operate runners 21 forming an expansible and retractable belt. <IMAGE>
