A load sensor (11) and an accelerometer (12) are provided on top of the suspension in a rubber mounting (14) within the chassis (B), to monitor the vertical loading and to supply a proportionate signal (d) to a microprocessor (13). The acceleration signal (a) is used in the processing to produce a control signal (s) which alters the springing characteristic of the piston rod (25) and its rotary actuator (28). This involves the phase relationship of the relative velocity and vertical acceleration. |
