ROUTING METHOD FOR PACKET SWITCHING NETWORK

PURPOSE:To selectively control only packets passing in a congested repeating route by reporting information of the congested state of a repeating exchange to a bothway exchange together with discrimination information of this repeating exchange at the time of congestion of the repeating exchange. CONSTITUTION:When a repeating exchange TS on the repeating route falls into the congested state at the time of transferring a packet from an originating terminal 10 to terminating terminals 12 and 13 by the occurrence of a communication call, the repeating exchange TS reports the congested state of the repeating route to a bothway exchange LS together with discrimination information of this congested repeating route. Thus, the bothway exchange receives this report to selectively control only input packets from terminals which use this repeating route.
