PURPOSE:To remarkably increase the communication efficiency between a group and an external line or within the group with a line concentrator and a memory device making the connection control, by dividing functions of conventional devices into a main body and terminals and locating a plurality of the terminals in a group decentralizingly, in an FAX suitable for common use in a plurality of sections. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of remote terminals RSW1-5 having the functions of transmitted image reading and received image recording are controlled to be connected to an FAX central controller (main body) for one of them with a line concentrator controller ICC, to form a conventional FAX. In a stored memory device SMD, the line control, memory read, write control and image information write are made. Thus, even when one remote terminals is connected to the FAX main body in the transmission (reception) mode, other extensions can be communicated, and since the image data can be stored and waiting is made even if the called party is busy, human contact such as telephoning before and after the transmission/reception of FAX can be avoided and the transmission/reception can automatically be processed in each section unit, allowing to remarkably increase the functions of the FAX. |
