PURPOSE:To enable the receiving and accumulation of signatures to carry out, smoothly and suitably, by slowly lowering a table with the tops of accumulated signatures being maintained at a constant level. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a signature carrier section 12 for discharging signatures 15 in a horizontal attitude, adjacent to a signature discharge section 11 in the folding machine of a printing machine. The signature carrier section 12 is provided with two endless carrier belts 13, 14 between which signatures 15 are held and are discharged in the horizontal attitude at the trailing ends of the overlapped parts of the belts 13, 14. Further, a signature accumulating device 20 is provided adjacently to the signature carrier section 12, in which the signatures 15 sent by the carrier belts 13, 14 are received in the horizontal attitude and are accumulated in a predetermined number of copies as one accumulated member. Then, the signatures 15 successively drops in the horizontal attitude onto a table 22 and are gradually accumulated thereon. The table 22 is slowly lowered so that the level of the tops of the accumulated signatures is maintained at a constant height. |
