The invention concerns an arrangement for keels, fins and wings in aerodynamics and hydrodynamics, preferably intended for keels with an attached rudder for sailing boats. For these to give the best possible lifting force, the rudder blade must be held at an angle to the lee side. The precisely designed section shape is thus disrupted. An asymmetrical section of the type used on aircraft wings would be more effective, but unfortunately can only be used on one bow. The invention solves this problem by means of the keel and rudder being constructed as an integrated section shape, where the rudder is assumed to have an angle to the lee. The result is a section which, at the predetermined rudder angle, has an asymmetrical shape, angled towards the midline of the boat and without any kinking on the windward side at the transition between keel and rudder. The invention also comprises alternative segmented and bendable rudders, including two mechanical solutions for the design of these, and in one variant the front edge of the keel comprises a movable flap. <IMAGE> |
