<p>An antenna assembly (10) comprises insulating substrates (12, 22)each having conductive patterns deposited on one surface thereof. One substrate (12) has a loop element (14) extending around approximately 360° and terminates at adjacent first and second terminals (16, 18). A tap element, deposited on one surface of the second substrate (22), extends around approximately 180° and is parallel to half of the length of the loop element. One end of the tap element is connected to a mid-point of the loop element. Plate areas, formed on the substrates, are connected to terminals of the loop and tap elements to form capacitors. A large value capacitor (C10) is defined between the first and second terminals of the loop element, and a smaller value capacitor (C12) is defined between the second terminal (18) of the loop element (10) and opposite end terminal of the tap element. An amplifier (70) is connected to form an active antenna assembly.</p> |
