THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To impart excellent thermal transfer properties at the times of high density printing and high speed printing and to realize a printing image of high resolving power even on paper low in smoothness by successively laminating a specific release layer, a specific ink layer and a specific fixing enhancing layer to a support. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer recording medium is constituted by providing a release layer based on wax with an m.p. of 50-100 deg.C on a support and successively laminating an ink layer 3 containing a colorant and a copolymer (ethylene content: 70-90 wt.%) of ethylene and ethyl acrylate or vinyl acetate having a melt index of 50-4000g/10 min. and a copolymer based on vinyl toluene and butadiene or/and a copolymer based on vinyl xylene and butadiene and a fixing enhancing layer 4 based on at least one kind of resin having a glass transition point of 100 deg.C or higher selected from a styrenic and/or styrene derivative type, vinyl type and acrylic resins to said release layer 2.
