PURPOSE:To reduce excess labor due to the lacking of labor and to prevent the generation of an error by determining whether processing is to be executed by a simulation program in a local memory or a self-microprogram. CONSTITUTION:A microprocessor 1 writes the value of a register 102 in the local memory 2 and a system controller 4 reads out the written value. A simulation program 104 corresponding to the revision of the microprocessor 1 is loaded from an FD in accordance with the read value and saved in the local memory 2. The microprocessor 1 executes the processing of the program stored in a main memory 3 under the control of the microprogram 101. Prior to the execution of processing whose change is proposed, a table 103 in the local memory 2 is referred and whether the processing is to be executed by the microprogram 101 or the simulation program 104 is determined. Consequently, excess labor or the generation of errors due to the lack of labor can be removed.
